Food Church Property, temporarily named Llano, is located in the Sangre de Cristo mountain range of New Mexico at roughly 8,000ft above sea level. This 11-acre property features multiple irrigation ditches with consistent summer flow, as well as a full-time small creek on across its northeastern corner. Llano is in its third year of development; was once used as ranch land and then left in its raw state for approximately 50 years. The Llano property aims to be a flourishing food-producing forest that can support several full-time residents.
Property Owner and Food Church Visioneer Bennett has been carefully observing the features and seasonal changes of the land through all four seasons for the last 2.5 years. Bennett has also made and planted several keyhole garden beds which are passively irrigated throughout the summer. Multiple fruit trees have been planted in these beds along with a variety of other plants around each tree. Throughout the summer of 2024 Food Church Visioneers also added more drought-resistant and edible, self-seeding perennial plants to the keyhole beds and surrounding areas; primarily as test species to see what will thrive easily with minimal to no oversight.

Love seeing all the pics!
